I'm using lenny, and I want to install some sid stuff. So, I put in the sid repository in my sources.list. now, synaptic says I have all these updates for sid. does sid become the new default update because it's newer than lenny? will I not get updates for lenny anymore or will I get both updates for lenny and sid and I have to choose?

Thanks for any help in advance:)

edit: SOLVED

Found preferences for dist selection in synaptic's menu.

Cheers.

when you change sources to sid you should not install updates, only the specific apps you want after sources should be changed back to lenny and updates will disapear.
the reason for this is if all updates are installed lenny will become upgraded to sid
