I've created another Stylish userstyle for the Ubuntu forums. Black, this time.
http://userstyles.org/styles/3992

The code was too long, so, I had to upload it as two, separate files. Just load the first piece in Stylish, remove the brace at the end, follow the link to the second piece, show the code, copy it (leaving out the first two lines), and paste it at the end of the first code-piece.

(Also can be used in Opera, and Greasemonkey.)

Enjoy!

Feedback is welcome, and let me know if you find something I missed.

PS ...Should I have used the original Ubuntu logo (instead of the blue)?

Hey, that looks pretty damn nice. I'd use it I was still on the dark desktop trip I was a few months ago.

hey there, that looks nice..may go and test that I think.

A little later....;

Ok, Bug 1:

The buttons in the edit boxes still have white backgrounds. They need to be darkened.

I don't mean to be funny, but how can you comfortably read dark blue on black?

I like it. I goes with my smoked glass gtk theme very well.

It's just a bummer that whenever I load a page I get a flash of orange.

Edit: nevermind, there are two parts. Duh

Ya, I got lazy with those buttons, and used the ones that belong to the grey style.:) Anyone have any suggestions on what color they should be?

Feel free to change it. Look for this (just after /**font properties**/):

a:link, .ubunu_loginboxfg a, .ubuntu_navbar a, .ubuntu_announcefg a, .smallfont a, .navbar a, .vbmenu_popup a, .smallfont span, .fieldset a, #threadslist a, .alt1Active a, .threadbit a, .vbmenu_option strong, .ubuntu_roundnavbar_content a:link, .pagenav .alt1 .smallfont, .alt1 a:link, .alt2 .smallfont{color: #2744A1 !important;}

.ubuntu_hlite a {color: #274BBD !important;}

...and change the color values.

It took me minutes to pick a color for the links. Blue looked fine to me.

Firefox crashes every time I open your link:confused:

I hate that!! :mad: Firefox freezes on me (when trying to view any of my Ubuntu styles), and complains about an unresponsive script!

I'll attach a file in my first post, containing the style, in a minute.

Edit: File attached.

Are you, perhaps, using Firefox 3? I am having the same problem when trying to visit GNOME-look.org.

Alright, but I don't know how long it'll take me, because I have very limited access to the 'net these days.

What color do you want? ...An exact (hex) color number is preferred.

Thank you very much. I've been using it all day now and it's a lot easier on the eyes compared to the normal white background.

I normally use black or dark desktop themes so this a perfect mix.

sorry to say this, but the colors are terrible.

They do not contrast properly, whoever told you that it was easy to read ANY text on a dark background lied.

Dark backgrounds result in extra stress on the eyes.
