When using a Windows version of VMware server there is an option in Ethernet|Network Adapter|Network Connection|Custom:Specific virtual network with a drop down list from vmnet0 to vmnet9.

I am wanting to create a network label of "dmz" for vmnet5, and give other network lables to the other vmnets using the command line in Ubuntu
ie configure the drop down list from within the command prompt

I would like to know where the configuration file resides and how to edit it to make manual changes or how to correctly create my network labels

I am using VMware Server Console 1.0.3 for linux
I am using Ubuntu 6.06

All my networking works apart from the above problem

When running the vmware-config.pl, I have tried the Wizard and the Editor

With the Editor I seem to be able to give a network label only for it to not actually work.

I would be much appreciative of help, others must surely have this very same problem. I hope that I have explained my problem clearly enough

If you require more info, please ask me on the forum thanks
