Hello,

I really am not sure where to post this question, so I decided to post it here and see if someone could either answer it or tell me where to post. I'm thinking of setting up an older system, perhaps in the neighborhood of 1 ghz. I wonder which would work better, an older Mac with Ubuntu or a similar intel pc?

I've been looking for benchmarks for linux on different platforms, but haven't found any so far.

I'm sure it wouldn't matter. 1 GHz is 1 GHz.

I'd go for a similar Intel.

Flash player is a pretty basic need for most users, and Flash on PowerPC isn't easy or reliable.

Oh...then I guess 1Ghz isn't just 1GHz. >_>

Definitely the Intel/AMD...PowerPC will just bring in an extra complication. Plus, some distros aren't even distributing PPC versions anymore...
