If scrolling in firefox, by any means possible, there is a faint beep coming from the area that the hard drive and where I have come to believe the IGP is in.

The craziest thing. I have never heard a computer make that noise before.

Just thought I would share with everyone.

I also can hear that sound however, very faintly. I don't really notice it.

If only one person hears/sees it, they are crazy.

If two people hear/see it, its a conspiracy.

That's because they made a spelling mistake at the factory and accidentally gave you an IED hard drive. :)

I find it bizarre that my recently-made laptop, with its fancy-looking Altec Lansing-branded speakers, still has a beep speaker somewhere in its guts.

And I might find out where, too, if there's no software solution and I have to get in there with wire cutters.

I am not worried about the beep. I can only hear it at night around 2 in the morning when nothing is going on. Even then my moms snooring in the next room overpowers this beep. I do work in a library, but its not quite. There is some eletronic noise wherever you go, and it overpowers the silence. I don't go to the library too much.

An it is not the system beep/bell. Its not coming from the speaker either. Sounds like it is coming from around the hard drive, but a little bit off to the side, more in the direction of where I believe the IGP is. Its a laptop, and I have no intention of opening it until next spring when I clean it. Even then I won't give this beep a second thought, until the laptop explodes and I have no more hands or forearms.
