The morning radio program I listen to (Australian ABC Radio National) had a session this morning straight after their 8.00am news bulletin with their tech guru being interviewed about the release of Leopard and problems with Vista. He made a point of saying that Linux was a genuine "third force" and mentioned Ubuntu specifically. It was a pretty pro-OSX interview but it was nice to see the national level coverage (even if on a radio network that is favoured by intellectuals and elites!).

That's the kind of audience you want to hear about this.

Except that, in Australia, intellectuals represent a very small percentage of the population and have even less influence. This country is run by and for what our US friends would call "trailer park trash". We refer to them as "boguns". Anyone who develops their own opinions based on fact, or who expresses a disinterest in sport, is immediately isolated and labeled "elitist", which is a really bad thing.

(Apologies to any forum members who identify culturally with the bogun/ TPT demographic)
