I'm gonna buy a Dell XPS M1330 (http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/topics/segtopic.aspx/minicat/uk/en/notebooks_mobility_1?c=uk&cs=ukdhs1&l=en&s=dhs)
but I am looking for some advice before I do.

Basically I will be installing Ubuntu on it but will be using Vista for some programs that don't run in Ubuntu. It comes with 1GB Ram and 128MB integrated graphics and Vista Premium. However, for an extra £110 you can get a faster processor, 2GB ram and 128MB GeForce graphics card.

Now although the more expensive one is a better deal I won't be playing games and the most intensive programs I would run would be Reason and Photoshop CS3.

Do you think it would be worth getting the extra features for the additional money, or would it run fine with the basic specs? Also, I have heard Vista runs a LOT better on 2GB Ram but I have never used it so I don't know.

Thanks for any advice :)

um, what version of Vista?

Take Basic, and you might be able to stick with the first set of specs
