Just wanted to as that. I installed it on my laptop and got EVERYTHING up and running in less than 30 minutes. It took me something like 3 hours to get WinXP pro on it. I couldn't ask for more. Still there are a couple little bugs but nothing I can't easily work around.

Always good to hear when things have worked out well. It's the nature of forums to be filled with requests for support, but it's important to remember that many people are very happy with Gutsy - myself included :)

yup, my system's nearly perfect,, just a couple more things to figure out (different backgrounds on each side of the cube on compiz and true transparency on my terminal) and i'm set! Might even disable upgrades so not to fudge anything up.:guitar:

edit: if anyone know's any good how-to's or threads for this please let me know, thnx :D

Have to agree, with every release things get easier to install.

I think it might be too user friendly for me. Everything worked out of the box. I liked the challenge in earlier versions. ;)

I tried the fiesty liveCD on my laptop and there was a few things that didn't work (mainly screen resolution) so, instead of trying to fix it I thought I would wait a few weeks to see what Gutsy had......I'm just pretty darn pleased. I never got the docking thing to work but I'm pretty sure it user error and not Gutsy. I'm not big on icons on my desktop anyway. Here is a screen shot of what I have setup for my wife.

Great to hear it. And nice setup... Very minimalistic but nice.

I'm not big on flash, I just want something that works. Everything on Compiz works perfectly but I decided to disable it. After I put the icons on the desktop I realized that the picture is just a tad to the left.

lol I am same way in sorts. I really dont use desktop effects or anything. Usually just keep it sweet and simple.

to make up for my awful post, plus have a chance to showoff an old desktop lol here's an idea you might like instead of a dock at the bottom of the screen. a normal panel with program launchers, plus some system monitors -
