The Official "RAV TUX": Appreciate Ubuntuforums.org Mods and Admins week!

I hope this will be an annual tradition, having volunteered my time in the past as a ubuntuforums.org mod. I know of the precious time given up to maintain the forums.

Even though I retired for personal reasons I still consider all the forum Admins & Mods as dear friends.

Beyond that I know first hand of how precious their time is that is freely given here.

I would like to start this thread in honor of all Admins & Mods here at ubuntuforums.org

The last week in October is now:

Appreciate Ubuntuforums.org Mods & Admins WeekLets call it a Ubuntuforums.org OktoberFest!

With the passing of Autumn comes Winter
Lets take this time to celebrate Life
and all those who are the maintainers of our wonderful online environment.

Please use this thread to say something nice about a forum Mod &/or Admin of your choice...

Here is a list of Ubuntuforums.org current Mods & Admins:

I would like to start my Appreciation for a very fine and honorable Mod.

Now that he is in Law School I am sure you will not see him much here:

Brunellus (http://ubuntuforums.org/member.php?u=9506)

Brunellus (http://ubuntuforums.org/member.php?u=9506) I have the Joy of personally hanging out with you at our local DC Ubuntu meet ups. I have to say I have met very few people as intelligent as you. A multiplicity of languages and subject matters your can converse in and all your conversations are enlightening.
How is this important to you as a Mod at Ubuntuforums.org, I believe you embody what is nothing short of an Ambassador for these forums.
An asset seldom seen online.
The daily task of Moding here is just one aspect of who you are as with all Mods & Admins.
The human factor of all members is what we need to remember here.
That human factor sometimes gets missed with a pure online interaction.
Brunellus (http://ubuntuforums.org/member.php?u=9506) I personally Thank You and all Mods and Admins for your priceless contributions.

more to come...

I would also like to thank all the admins and mods that have helped out around the community. Without them, this would be just another halfway useless forum. They make sure conversations stay on topic and help out where they can. It is good to see their helpfulness and their example shows others how a good community can grow to become one big family. :)

Thanks again!

Chris

I would also like to thank all of the Mods and Admins. They put a lot of hard work into the forums and they do such a great job too. They are all very nice, patient, knowledgeable, and understanding people. Also a big thanks to any past Mods and Admins that have donated their time.
RAV TUX, the Community Cafe` wouldn't be the same without you ;)

Ahh yes, Taurus...I have added him to the OP list.

yah, he was

Thanks guys if anybody can think of any other members that have kindly volunteered their time.

Please post their usernames so I can add them to the master list in the OP.

Anybody who has freely volunteered their time here to serve the greater community is worthy of recognition.

Again I Thank every Mod & Admin that currently serves or has served in the past.

I also Thank all the normal users who make this forum just as fun and enjoyable as it is informative and helpful.

A proper centered balance is the heart and soul of Ubuntu, Ubuntuforums.org is the soul of Ubuntu itself.

A proper centered balance is the heart and soul of Ubuntu, Ubuntuforums.org is the soul of Ubuntu itself.

I whole heartedly agree. Without the ubuntuforums and the fun and intelligent people i have met on here I would probably be switching to another distro after Gutsy (I am still having a hell of a time with Gutsy). I probably would have switched to another distro, but I have lots of ties to the Ubuntuforums and I am glad for it. It is one of the main reasons for keeping me with using Ubuntu as my main distro. I have since reverted back to Feisty as the hardware support for HP laptops has become unstable at best. But thanks to all the nice people on the forums, I probably will never switch distros. :)

It's at the bottom of the Forum front page. A link called "forum leaders," or something like that.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and thanks to the admins and mods for the hard work. This is a fantastic place.

I believe Pumalite has passed RAV TUX in the bean count.

I also agree with Niko, RAV TUX has given a lot to this community, he does deserve the title of Staff Emeritus for all his effort and hard-work:).

But staying on topic, yes, admins and mods, a huge thank you for all your hard-work in keeping the Ubuntu spirit flowing in Ubuntu Forums from the time it was created(It must have been done really well when you consider the current stature of Ubuntu Forums) and also in doing that even though the work you do is voluntary which makes the achievement even greater as it is all done in the name of freedom and not in getting any profits or glory. Another special thanks also to ubuntu-geek for starting this wonderful forum which feels "Just like home" to me:lolflag:.
