adding to the list:

Kalzium 1.4.6 (http://edu.kde.org/kalzium/)

Install Link: apt:kalzium

Kalzium is an application which will show you some information about the periodic system of the elements. Therefore you could use it as an information database. http://edu.kde.org/kalzium/

Kalzium rocks. I learned about it on GrokLaw, of all places. I have almost no chemistry background, so I found it to be a really simple and easy way to learn myself the basics.

I also like the Bad Astronomy Blog (http://www.badastronomy.com/). Not purely science, but he does a great job of keeping up to date with all that's new and cool in astrophysics.

Umm, gnuplot? It's command line, but it's all I use for plotting stuff I can't imagine. Damn nice.

KTechlab

That's always great fun.Awesome! added to the list...

a little more about KTechLab:

KTechLab is an Open Source Intergated Design Environment (IDE) for electronic and PIC microcontroller circuit design and simulation.
Featuring an extensive circuit designer with autorouting and simulation of many common electronic components and logic elements, KTechLab is the idea tool for educational or hobbyist use.
KTechLab features an easy to use, flowchart based PIC program designer - Flowcoder; along with a BASIC like programming language called Microbe. Programs designed by these tools can be added to any circuit design as a 'virtual' PIC allowing complex microcontroller based circuits to be created.
KTechLab supports a wide range of Open Source PIC programmers, enabling finalised PIC programs to be quickly and easily transfered to a real PIC microcontroller.

Hello

I have Kmplot but its buggy and i dont know how to report it since the bug report wizard does not work for this program... the bug is f(x)=(1+x)^1/x types, when y is not defined at x=0 but this program defines it as y=1 ?? too bad theres no manual that comes with...do you of any programs similar to Kmplot thats dependable and can do integrals and differentials
