View Full Version : can you run a vmware vm on virtualbox?

Is it possible to run a VM I created and used with VMWare server on virtualbox?

or for that matter vmplayer?

I have a windows VM that has flash and photoshop on it and I need them for school. but I here server is a real B*tch to install on gutsy.

so I have a vm I saved. can virtualbox run it?

Yes, you can. Set up a new virtual machine in virtualbox, and set it to use the vmware image as harddrive.

umm.... never mind. I must have spoke too soon. when I posted this I was downloading the vmware server binary form the vmware website. well I installed build-essentials and the linux headers and vmware-server installed fine. I even opened up my VM and it runs fine.

so Sorry I must have spoke to soon.
