I just stumbled on this site yesterday,

http://www.flippinsweetdude.com/maps/index.php

thought, 'wow' that looks fun, and registered. Since then i've found the map to be empty. I pointed a friend to it and he registere too, and equally find the global map empty and not popluated with ubuntu icons with members names on 'em when you click on em.

Anyone, know what's going on here?

thank you in advance,

That seems to be a different map altogether... how many ubuntu maps are there?

Anyhow, it doesn't tell me what happened to the map i joined and how come it was showing users on it yesterday and appears to be no longer showing them,

thank you

I do not know what happened to the map you've linked to, the stats still look ok. There is an email address on the site, may be ask there ?
I gave you the link on the ubuntu wiki.

thank you...

On the link you gave me it doesn't appear that one can zoom in, or? that's what made the other site partucularly fun. You say the stats still look good on it? I'm confused because as i say when i hit that site all i get is the map with no ubuntu users on it anymore

I looked for the stats there: http://www.flippinsweetdude.com/maps/stats.php
So there are registered users. I may be better to ask directly to the owner of the site.
For the Ubuntu wiki page, there are some localized versions offered by LoCos. A new world-wide map, with a clicking feature to higher resolutions, that could be a fun project ;)
(I have no time for this, just an idea ^^)

To All:

I am the creator of the map site at flippinweetdude.com. The was a simple problem with one user account. I got it fixed and we are back up and running. Sorry for the delay, out camping with the family.

btw cannot use angle braces for a user name, it breaks the xml file.

zniavre,

I will try some tricks to get you back on with that user name. (I'll give it the old college try)
