pushad and popad for AT&T

I know that this is in no way the right place to ask this question. But I havent seen a more active forum than ubuntuforums. So could someone please tell me why does the AT&T syntax for x86 assembly,architechture not support the pushad and popad instructions. If they do then why is the error coming: pushad unknown.

Someone please reply I thought this is the best forum for linux out there. If no one can reply at least someone can suggest where to look for an answer or where to post this question.
