Extremely unstable. :mad:

seems more stable than 2.2 over here

For example, just trying to open the following dialogs:

Format->Styles & Formatting...
View->Toolbars->Customize...

...results in a crash.

To be honest, I agree. I have not had too much luck with OpenOffice.org.

Try Gnumeric.

I tried switching over, but when I try to load in our spreadsheet (the one we track our family finances on) it gives some sort of error regarding "XML error" or some-odd.

I've been using KOffice for a while now. It tends to be fairly stable, and I kind sometimes find a feature when I need it.

Ah... And in fact, we are using the gnome crux theme.

Ah... And in fact, we are using the gnome crux theme.

The Human theme seems to be the most stable. Although I've still managed to crash Calc with the Human theme:shock:
Open Calc and go Insert>Function>Next
Click the button with the little green arrow and the window will shrink. Then click that button again. The window will maximize again, but Calc freezes.

Works fine for me on 2.3.

Apparently it has to do with our using the crux theme in gnome...

Verified it crashes when CRUX is used as the theme. It looks like those modeless dialogs need some extensive work. In some themes the look is just hideous showing two-tones for some fields and solid colors for others. It will be good to see the dialog fixed.

Hmm you're right, is there a bug filed for that one?

It falls under the same one I posted before. This effects everything that is part of Open Office. Not just one particular program like Writer. It effects them all. :shock:
There's a few new comments on that bug. Apparently 2.3.1 fixes this.

OpenOffice 2.3 is a crock of sh*t. If you have any theme other than some of the default ones, it crashes on almost any option that isn't "New File" or "Save". Seriously, who releases a new version that's worse than the previous one.

Ah ok thanks. Wasn't sure if that was part of the same issue since it occurs on Human theme.
