Kazehakase The super fast Web Browser from Japan!(Think Firefox/Epiphany on steroids)

Kazehakase is simply awesome!

sudo apt-get install KazehakaseThanks to Polygon (http://ubuntuforums.org/member.php?u=61586) for reminding me about this in this post. (http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=3581825&postcount=10)

Kazehakase has matured from last year into a reliable, light weight, fast & stable Web Browser that can now function as your primary Web Browser of choice.

My only problem is Ubuntu only has version 0.4.3 available, the latest version is 0.4.9

Nice to see Debian has the apturl function working in Kazehakase, I only wish Gutsy had this available by default or maybe it is but in the latest version?

"apturl" ?

You mean Linux folks posting a package to a web-site can setup a url to act like an "apt-get". So, when you click the link, apt-get d/l's the package and automatically runs to install the package?

If that's the case, that's freakin' cool!

'fast'?

'fast'?Not just fast,...Super Fast!

...but I suggest the latest version.

(of course this could be perceptual, since I haven't actually clocked page rendering speed)

It sure is a nice lightweight browser, but I sure wouldn't call it "fast". No real improvement compared to Swiftweasel or Firefox. In fact I think it's a bit slower compared to Swiftweasel about 3 seconds (need to check that though).

Anyway thanks sharing. :)

Yes, until someone post page rendering speeds it could best be fast perceptually, plus I have my Firefox bloated with extensions and themes. ;)

OK judging from my results in this thread:

Testing Web Browser Page Rendering speeds in Gutsy (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=583835)

Kazehakase while faster the Epiphany and Konqueror it is not faster the Firefox, and comes no where close to the speed of Opera.

does it render as many sites as FF or Opera does correctly?

Dillo pwns thisActually I tested Dillo it's grotesquely slow, and I wouldn't even consider it as a serious contender, since the pop-up window with the rendering speed didn't even come up and then it crashed.

It looks as if someone hasn't read the GNOME HIG.

I used it once to test WebKit.

Dillo's renders are gross :P I'd go with Links2 gui if I wanted something small...

I never seem to be able to click "sign in" or "log in" things in Kazehakase, any of you guys have that problem?

I tried this browser. Crashes on two very important operations:

(1) After changing "UI Level"

(2) After importing bookmarks from Firefox or wherever.

These crashes disqualify it in my book until/unless they are fixed, so I'm sticking with Epiphany for now.

Epiphany or Firefox 3 are the way to go.
