Audacious for listening to the files on my computer, and Rhytmbox for making sure things are well tagged and for podcasts.

I use Amarok for my main collection and Rhythmbox for my "recently acquired" music.

I use Amarok but I don't think it's that great. I just haven't found one yet that I like better.

It has been way overdone, but this way I can see about some new players that other people like and that I haven't heard of and that I might try out and replace Amarok.

Songbird. I'd use Exaile but it refuses to load my collection.

I have no external music player, I only listen to music on my pc and in my car. Amarok is perfection for me.

I don't use Amarok or Exaile. I've found many players I enjoy using, but those two are just intuitive nightmares for me. They may be good if I spent weeks retagging my music but that's not likely to happen. For now I use Rhythmbox, Quod Libet, and Listen depending on the needs at the time.

I know, I also wanted to add songbird, but polls are limited to 10 options.

Why do so many music players fail to alphabetize band names correctly, e.g. "The Rolling Stones" should be recognized as "Rolling Stones, The" without me having to edit thousands of tags. Some players do this and others do not. I am in the middle of choosing a new media player after a fresh install and this is one of my issues.
