Hi there
Is the Backyard Forum still functioning? Have seen references to in the past but couldn't find a link to it on the Forum home page. Or is it now just part of the Community Cafe?
Read quite an interesting thread that referred to Eric S Raymond in one post - who I discovered (after following the Wikipedia link and reading alittle of his Blog) appeared controversial - perhaps worthy of further discussion or critical debate - because of views and perhaps also his contribution to early open source. I hadn't heard of him before but am interested in finding out more of the evolution of Open Source and its many different ideals.
I don't agree with the man at all especially with many of the views or ideas that he expresses - other than wishing to perhaps read "The Cathedral and the Bazaar" as part of research for a uni project.
Anyway thanks for any help.
