Well I was searching around for someone to do a how to series on GIMP after Ronnie was done with his scribus one. I was doing some searching and found Philip McClure from a GIMP v PhotoShop article. http://grimthing.com/archives/2007/01/11/Gimp_vs_Photoshop/

I fell that he is very qualified and I like his writing style, which to me is very important to keep readers attention. I have contacted him and he said he is interested.

You got my vote. I've got a would-be photography friend always asking how to do X in GIMP.

I too think that it would be a lovely idea, but do you think that he can cover any aspect of GIMP? or just the photograph stuff (i my self would very much like to learn about making website designs in GIMP?)

This sounds great, I'm always trying to learn new tricks on the gimp, it is great to have tutorials. I look forward to these articles.

The guy who was going to write them never did get back to me but I know he was busy with a new addition to the family so he may not do it now.

If it comes to it I could always do some GIMP stuff to cover the basics of things like layers, photo enhancement, basic effects and what-not... ??

I know someone else who might be interested as well. I'll give him a call.
