So many free Linux cd sites have went in the hole. I am proposing that I will burn disks in my house with my spare time, for a small fee, (enough to pay for shipping of the CD) a distro of Ubuntu. I know it's not needed but the demand is out there.

Would anyone be interested, and does anyone think this is a good idea. Feedback welcome!

This is just in the planning stages as I have no knowledge of shipping prices and weather or not people would pay for this.

I looked up some USPS prices and it would be about 3$ per CD to ship with a slight charge to pay for the blank CD's.

Anyone still interested?

Our team has cd's to give out. If there are people needing cd's, they get contact us through the forum, mailing list, irc channel or email/pm any one of us. If someone asks me directly, I will most certainly mail out cd's to whoever needs them.

With the amount of people we have in the group, we could distribute a number of cd's to each member to give out to those in need and cover a good portion of the state.

that sounds like a good idea. Also, I thought that said "proposing a pizza delivery" at first

Thats a good idea but I went to the Linux Installfest Saturday and Martin told me that getting CD's from canonical was rather tough and that is why I came up with this idea. If you have a good supply then it will not be necessary for me to sell the cds.

I am still up for sending out CD's if people want them of any distro.
