Greetings All,
I am an Ebay seller who has recently moved to Linux/Ubuntu because windows is broken. I haven't listed anything in the past year and I would like to get some idea of what to expect. i.e. your experience and solutions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
David

How do you mean? Do you mean selling machines with Linux on them, or using a Linux machine to post auctions?

This would for using a Linux machine to post auctions.

I haven't had any trouble posting auctions with the Sell page, although I don't like that it relies on so many lightbox effects and so forth. It tends to drag.

And of course, Turbolister doesn't work for me in Linux or Wine. Others may have had better luck though.

Your talking about ebays Turbo Lister, used on a Windows box... right?

David, I can't be for sure, but it seems like I read somewhere on this forum someone using TL either under wine or a VM running Windows.

If your familar at all with coding HTML, then I'd say just use something like blufish or gedit to whip up your code and paste it in between the body tags one their web interface... sucks, but that's something you (and other ebay sellers) should storm Meg with. Unfortunately though, if your not a powerseller, they don't seem to listen very well.

I was using Turbo Lister on Windows, so it looks like my only solution for selling would be from the "sell your item" from the ebay web site, is this right?

BTW, I like the Bluefish HTML idea!

Being about ready to start listing some more stuff on ebay myself, I did some further checking for us at Google:

This first link http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-336264.html looks promising depending on a users technical ability. Pay attention to the last post back on march 12th.

Hope that helps... Let us know if you have any success with it.
