A social topic: What are you having for dinner? Include a photo of the dish (Google is helpful).

I'm having Flæskesteg (roast pork with crackling). Traditionally, a Christmas dish, but like turkey, you can eat it all year 'round too. The best part of it is the crackling and the brunede kartofler (litt. potatoes made brown) which are small potatoes fried in sugar and butter.

I had Biryani. My camera charger's not working, so you'll have to settle for this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biryani
It's this rice dish, with mutton and stuff.

We've just gotten round to celebrating Eid, you know. My mom's a Muslim.

One of my muslim friend went out of town on this
weekend to celebrate fasting season. Is it the same thing
to Eid?

I figure kool = cabbage (it's kål in Danish), but what does boeren mean... stew? So cabbage stew with sausages?

Eid is the last day of Ramadan (I think). My muslim friend told me it's a bit like Christmas.

Yep, it's a turkey substitute filled with stuffing and it's absolutely delicious (some of them come with these cranberry dumplings that are also amazing).

Eid is the last day of Ramadan (I think). My muslim friend told me it's a bit like Christmas.

Eid is the first day of Syawal, the month that comes after Ramadhan. It's a celebration of the end of Ramadhan, a month where Muslims emulate humility and fast. And thus unlike Christmas, a celebration of Jesus birthdate.

OT: Cheese and tuna melt panini!

Edit: 580 Cal! Yikes!

For today...it'll be plain old hot dogs. But, for a twist besides mustard and ketchup, I like to add a little bit of this chili-garlic sauce:

I like it on just about everything!

In this case, it's a bit different from the bagged variety, but we do have those too in Danish super markets.

Yep, probably the same thing. Eid is when they celebrate the end of Ramzan. I suppose it's sort of like Holy Saturday to Lent.

Tonight I had some home made pizza leftovers and smørrebrød (anglisized: smorgasbord) which is an open sandwich made with rye bread and different toppings. I had a roast beef one (photo taken at a different occasion).
