I think it would be an awesome idea to add an ebooks section to the repository. Or maybe develop an application that works like synaptic, but for ebooks and educational readings. You would be able to search for a particular subject, and be given a list of available material to download. You could have main repos for free material, and then of course people could create their own repos for copyright material if they chose to (I think copyright on digital intellectual property is stupid) .What do you guys think? Is there something like this already that I don't know about?

Indian in the Cupboard, now there's a book I have not read in a long time.
The interesting thing about 'children's books' is they call to our imagination even when we have long left those simple ways behind.

Pity the google books are copywrited.

well there is always your local library.

This has been added to the brainstorm if you would like to vote on it for intrepid ibex.

http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/idea/9287/

I will be preparing a blueprint shortly and plan to create the repository on my own if it is not accepted (maybe medibuntu will host it?)

I voted for it...but I like the idea....at least some parts of it. I'm relatively new to Ubuntu (and Linux in general) and might start working on a project that is similar. I posted a little info at the brainstorm sight.
