I have 8 different "File Managers" running right now in E17 Xubuntu 7.10.

Anyway I was wondering what is your favorite "File Manager" in E17 to use.

I have been using Konqueror the most but I find that Dolphin and Thunar seem to be the most feature rich and pleasing to the eye. I will give Dolphin and Thunar a deeper look.

ROX-Filer looks pretty damn awesome also. Nautilus is also very nice.

One program I find especially helpful, while not a "File Manager" per say, but extremely helpful is "XFCE 4 Appfinder"

1. Konqueror
2. Dolphin
3. GNOME Commander
4. emelFM2
5. Krusader
6. Thunar
7. Nautilus
8. ROX-Filer
9. none
10. other

I'm a KDE man myself. I've been using it since the first beryl came into existence (Fluxbox before that) and so I'm accustomed to KDE apps. Hence my choice in file manager is Konqueror. I used ROX on Fluxbox, and it's definately nice too.

So on my laptop (recently switched to E17) I use my plethora of KDE apps, including Konqueror.

dolphin is great, rav, and would go nicely with konsole.

I just installed ROX and it seems pretty fast. Is there a way to have a "tree view" on the left side like in other file managers?

I use the terminal for most of my file managing needs, and Rox when I want something graphical.

I like thunar

I have Thunar and rox and PcMan installed, and of those three, I like Thunar the best. I'm really digging e17.

What happened to the efl based file managers? I think entropy will become the best for e17 sooner or later.

Cheers,

Thunar is fast and does all you need and runs good in root as well, used with Gedit can do all your editing and change file permission mount drives the lot.
