I've played roller tennis a few times with my friend. Pretty much plain tennis, but on rollerblades. Great fun.

genius ball. a friend of mine and i invented it at work, one night, when we were both working at a library. it can be played in any situation in which there are eye level dividers. all that is needed is a taped up sheet from a newspaper, shaped into a ball. it's played cooperatively and the object is to keep the 'genius' up in the air as long as possible, batting it with open hands (no grabbing allowed).

*golf clap*

it's not redundant if he doesn't know what it means. which, obviously, he doesn't.

Mug-lifting and GlasSoccer.

GlasSocer is a drunkard's team sport played by teams of 3 vs 3, each team comprised of:

1 goalkeeper
1 midfielder
1 striker

Kick-off takes place when both midfielders try to drink a pint of beer as fast as they can. Whoever drinks first passes the virtual "ball" to their respective striker. If the striker then drinks his pint faster than the goalkeeper, his team scores, and the virtual "ball" is passed again to the midfielders. If the goalkeeper drinks faster than the striker, the ball is immediately passed to his striker (counter-attack). If the goalkeeper "saves" the striker's shot in a counter-attack, the ball is passed to his respective striker, instead of creating another counter-attack.

Matches end whenever a team "scores" 3 goals. The losing team pays all the drinks.

It's a brilliant sport, the event of true bonding by drinking yourself senseless.

Its not obscure here, in fact its the second most popular sport but I doubt anyone outside this Country (Ireland) has ever heard of it.

I play hurling.

p.s > I'd be interested in peoples opinions of the sport actually. It's one of the most enjoyable sports I have ever seen. I was addicted to watching it on TV a couple of years ago, but I don't get much of it, nowadays.

I even conned the owner of an Irish pub here into giving me his "camán", which I have on display in my bedroom :P

Also, Gaelic Football is just as incredible. They're both sports which are played at an incredible rhythm, really aggressively. And it's a tough MAN's game, too. No paddings whatsoever :P

I guess the comparison to lacrosse is as legitimate as comparing rugby to american football... but hurling is, mostly, incomparable.

Try watching a game, and you'll be hooked.
