I started my search with Compact Menu, nice but not quite what I wanted...Personal Menu allows you to take complete control in the full customization of your menu bar...this is the coolest extension I have found in a while give it a try....

"Menus Toolbar" item is now available in Toolbar Context Menu and you may hide it forever! So let's replace the conservative menus and gather all useful commands into a compact and tiny button! Included languages: 中文 (简体), 中文 (繁體), Nederlands, English, Français, Deutsch, עברית, Magyar, Italiano, 日本語, 한국어, Polski, Português (Europeu) & Русский.

Feel tired of the conservative menus, and have tried to put them into a single menu but never want to waste time on one more click?

With the Personal Menu, you may hide any menu in Menus Toolbar (even the hole Menus Toolbar), and design your own menu with just few settings.

It also offers a History Button and a Bookmarks Button. You can set how many hitory items show in the menu, and what will happen when you middle/right click the buttons.

I've been using this for a while, and I love it. I used to use userChrome.css to hide the menus starting back in the 0.8 days (it's been a crazy ride), but I don't need to do that anymore, now that I have this extension.

Actually, my userChrome.css file was pretty big until about FF2.0, when I starting to find extensions to replace much of the CSS. I haven't added anything to that file for a long time.

Even when using Personal Menu, I still keep my menus visible, but hide the actual main menu bar. That way, I can keep the Personal Menu small, while still having access to all the menus via the Alt key. Good stuff.
