Nagana sa kin yun, punta k ng add/remove programs, install mo yung ubuntu restricted extras, tapos gagana n yun dapat. Pero kung may no script kang add on s firefox mo kaylangan mo lang i-allow yon.

if you want to use chikka with pidgin, you must have a gmail account,

sa pidgin ang protocol na gamiting mo ay googletalk then use your gmail account.

now if you want to add mga contacts mo just add a buddy type their cellno@chikkatalk.com

ex. 639171464356@chikkatalk.com

that's it you can now text using pidgin be sure na kahit isang beses mag reply sila sa iyong messages sa chikka para tuloy-tuloy ang text.:)

There's a problem with the chikka javalite page so open it here (http://java.chikka.com/ctm_java/).

If you want to use the latest chikka messenger (chikka.com), I would recommend running it on Prism (http://labs.mozilla.com/2007/11/prism-prototype-now-available-on-mac-and-linux/).

Right click mo yung panel tapos Add to Panel. Add mo yung Quit applet :)

Wag ka mahiyang gumawa ng sarili mong thread para sa sarili mong topic para mas madali mo mahanap sagot mo :)

Di ko mapagana ang chikka v4 sa wine (hanggang starting chikka lang, tapos mag fail altogether) or sa windows xp on virtualbox (missing dlls daw).

haay... ok lang kasi kung text lang sa webmessenger pero ginagamit ko din ang i$end na program ng chikka v4.

Hay salamat. Nakuha ku rin sa Pidgin. :D

To make it simple (For Pidgin):

Setting up>>

1) Kelangan pala ng isang xmpp program katulad ng Googletalk. (Sign up ka muna for Google talk account)

2) Punta ka sa Accounts>> Manage Accounts (CTRL+A) , Click Add.
3) Sa Log in Options, palitan ang Protocol ng Googletalk.
4) Ilagay sa Username kung ano ang username na ginawa mo sa GoogleTalk. Yung domain>>gmail.com
5) Ilagay din yung password.
6)Click "Save"


Adding Up chikka Contacts>>

1)Buddies>> Add buddies (or Ctrl+B)
2) Ilagay sa Buddy User's name ang celfone number na cocontactkin niyo kasama ang country code@chikkatalk.com (ex.639089724528@chikkatalk.com)
3) Click Add.
4) Pakihintay lang na magactivate ang number na inadd. (Sa unang tingin offline sila pero pakihintay)
5)Pag nag activate na pede ka na magsend ng sms.

I bet It wont work kasi sakin Na i try ko but w/ respect to your Opinion maybe sa inyo Nag worked out, But in my own case Hindi. maybe I missed something this was my 1st time that I used Ubuntu 9.10 Os. For a change kaya na i try ko, well Ubuntu is not for people who don't have strong back ground in computer Programming or I.T. I'm a newbee user in Ubuntu. I have so many thing to leaned bago ko ma Master etong Ubuntu. Well at the longRun I will stick for ubuntu in quiete some time.

Here's what I get, I need to download and install (http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp) a Java Runtime Environment.

Correct. But you can delete the contact and create the same para makapagsend ka ulit sa kanya. ;)

I think, it is really impossible to install chikka in ubuntu. Di talaga gumagana sa WINE.

This works in Empathy, pidgin, and kopete. Google talk sabi nila. But actually, Google talk also uses the Jabber. SO I strongly suggest that you better open an account in Jabber than just Google talk.
