CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz
Video card: nVidia 8800 or 6600
Monitor: suggest a monitor that is 20"
Speakers: I'll choose my own. Every one of these should work.
Hard Drive: Please suggest a 250GB(one that is pretty decent) I'll probably go with Western Digital.
Fans/Coolers/Heatsinks: please suggest one since I haven't played with these.
RAM: 2GB DDR2 800
Power Supply:

22" ACER LCD Wide
i added a Wireless card i needed to go on the net (to brag ;) )

i added a Wireless card i needed to go on the net (to brag ;) )what wireless card works natively(firmware) in Linux? By the way, nice setup. :)

well this card is not native but realtek did a nice job on the drivers as usual & it "ports" to Linux easy (only 2 files .sys & .inf )

& yes nice setup ;) tho on the negative note i bought winXP pro for the sake of AofE 3 & Homworld 2 :)


i did install in my usual dualboot with grub workaround :) (ie i load it via XP's loader)

that 22" man what a dif from 13 on my old laptop ;) ok im braging again lol

Thanks for your input, I will put careful considerations into wireless cards because the desktop will not be very close to the router.

the wireless card is actaly trendnet 423pi but its a realtek chip & detected as such
