Im currently running the 'Buntu kernel with KDE core on top, and im having no problems.

Ive been following the development of 7.10, and its impressive to say the least. But since I run KDE at the moment, what benefits will I have upgrading? Obviously this is going to be referring to gains made out of the kernel..

Im not using Kubuntu, so any changes made to it shouldnt affect me. I plan to upgrade the 18th, so itd be nice to know whats coming down the way.

And what are the changes for Kubuntu and Xubuntu- not too much gets said about the sisters of buntu..

**EDIT** I have a laptop if that makes any difference.. gains in battery life would be great.

Hey, thanks for that. Its good to see both variants are getting nice upgrades as well.

I was really more concerned with the kernel updates.. or even just general changes that have been made that apply to an alternate install. I think I need to start trying to find rss feeds, mailing letters and irc channels that deal with development.. that way I can post these things for other people rather than asking.. Ive been around here long enough :)

Maybe you should hit up some of the Dev mailing lists if you are interested in that kind of thing.
