Tech ARP Article on Intel Penryn. (http://www.techarp.com/showarticle.aspx?artno=454)

So details on the new Penryn have been leaked including pricing and benchmarks. It looks very promising at a reasonable performance boost of 5-20% overall, especially since I postponed my new machine build until the next year. I also noticed SSE4 made quite a noticeable difference in the DivX 6.6.1 tests boosting performance quite a bit.

So, reactions? Anyone planning on getting it (upgrade or new machine) when it comes out? Or waiting for the new architecture release later? Is SSE4 that important at all?

I've been reading up on Phenom for a while, it does look a bit promising. I am sceptical however that they can take the performance crown away from Intel. I guess I'll have to see when the reviews come out and stack them against each other.

I'm going to wait for the phenom, too. Gotta buy AMD. I gotta KEEP STRONG with the AMD processors. I can't let INTEL flex their hands over the CPU MARKET so EASILY.
