Orange juice goes best with everything. And for the things it doesn't orange pop does  ...

Merlot or coffee, depending on the hour.

Breastmilk, since we should start them off the right way.

How old were you when you first became root?

Um... depends on how well things are going for me. Beer (or something harder) if I'm so utterly pissed at something that I can't get to work and I give up, coffee if I'm staying up late, but still determined, and water, soda, juice or whatever for general use.

Since i only drink on very rare special social occasions (weddings, etc..) My drink of choice is the usual Mountain Dew or Hot tea...

It was 6 years ago when I was 16 when i touched my first linux environment on my spare 486DX/66 (FEEL THE PWR!!! RAWR!!).

November 21st, 2004, 07:08 AM
Mountain Dew, how did I forget that, I drink way too much of that stuff.

Anyway, the second question, It was about 6 years ago exactly, and I just had turned 17.

less than 3 months ago (I am still 20).

Hmmm.. a good red wine fit perfect to my Ubuntu! But in wintertimes a hot, good smelling tea is also wonderful.

Usually coffee & water, sometimes a decent Burgundy or Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot & water, occasionally a Guiness & water and for those really trying times (i.e. my latest tinkering has neccesitated a complete re-install), Bushmill's (neat) & water....

Did I mention I drink a lot of water?

Uh, 1986 - I had just been transferred to California, was handed the SCO XENIX media and documentation package (I was much stronger then) and told to create a multi-user call-tracking system...an interesting time.

Depending on the hour and how long before/after I've worked out...

Crystal Light (pansie-ish, I know, but I hate the non-taste of water).

Cabana Boy (although if I have too much you can often find me licking the picture of the boy on the bottle).

Homemade chai tea (got a great recipe in India from the ashram).

Sorry to resurrect an old topic but this is one worthy of revisiting.

In typical computer geek fashion I drink anything containing the nectar of the gods, caffiene. More specifically Jolt! Cola products and coffee :D

And off course water, plain water, 2 liters a day.

I was 20 when I first logged in as root (1997 on Red Hat 5).

Coffee is what I'm most likely to be drinking but, if you want my suggestion for the drink that sounds like it ought to go best, the answer would be real ale. Lots of 'distros', a bit of a geeky image but brewed and enjoyed by people who know what they're doing ;)

January 12th, 2005, 02:19 PM
I like Tea and the occastional rum and coke.

January 12th, 2005, 02:34 PM
Columbian coffee laced with ground cinnamon in the morning.

Water and OJ during the day...with another cop of coffee at 3:00pm

IN the evenings I like to sit in front of the radiation glow with a nice flagon of Ununtu Stout... and maybe some (meat) stew with a 1/2 loaf of bread and a block of cheddar...

"Serving wench! Fetch my Stout!"

Yeah, I know -- I really know how to live.

Turkish Coffee, no question.

Especially since I got a new hand-grinder from Santa-girlfriend. :-)

"Coffee should be black as night, strong as death and sweet as a lover's kiss."
