View Full Version : Installing Mods on Frets On Fire

I'm running Debian Etch (most of it's Etch anyway), and I've got Frets on Fire install via the Repositories. Thank God, too, I love it.

Have my USB/PS2 converter and using my Guitar Hero II guitar, and theres a small problem, but that's for another thread.

I can't seem to get any mods working, besides the two that came prepackaged. I got the RF Mod from here on these forums (http://www.fretsonfire.net/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=11;t=11473;), installed it how it's supposed to (used root and Nautilus and moved the files to /usr/share/games/fretsonfire/data/mods/, like how the initial instructions say to put the mod in the /data/mods folder like in regular Windows, with whatever path you have it saved on)...

I turn the mod on, but nothing happens. Seriously, nothing, it's like it's laughing in my face and calling me an idiot. I go through the menu to Game Options and Mods (or however you progress, I'm not in the game right now but I know the process of turning the Mods on)... It just won't work out.

I gave that same folder (/usr/share/games/fretsonfire/) full permissions to write as it pleases via Nautilus with root again, so I know it's not a writing issue. Unless there is another Frets on Fire folder somewhere... I've placed all my songs in this directory, and they pick up just fine so I know it can read and write.

What is a Linux user to do?
