"Linux driver for the ZyDAS ZD1211 802.11b/g USB-WLAN-Chip."

http://sourceforge.net/projects/zd1211

(it would be awesome if i actually knew what any of this meant.)

jdong linked to this a while back:

(if you go into the forums, you can see some of his posts there!) - the driver covers a range of cards, including some USB b/g ones. It's looking immensely promising, and I've already bought one 167g USB stick on the strength of the project, and when I get around to building my Linux PVR, I'd buy another one without hesitation. The USB drivers are really still in their infancy, but already work well and are very complete - they apparently even work in monitor mode with kismet!

You don't want to use that driver...didn't compile easy and didn't really worked nicely with my usb wlan stick(from sitecom). It would crash because of small things, and sometimes the card just turned itself off and I had to reboot the comp(reloading the driver would crash the whole system ).

The ralink driver works OK though ;-)

now that the new mac minis are out, i guess this is all a moot point once i scrape together $600.

Can you point us in the direction of the ralink driver?
