Was going to get a new MoBo earlier in the week, but things came up and now I'm looking to order one tomorrow. Was between a $90 Abit and a $60 ECS, and everyone said go for the Abit.

I did a bit more research and found an Intel that was almost identical but $5 less.

Intel:

Abit:

I don't need it for ultra-hardcore graphics or super fast gaming, just need it for basic stuff while still maintaining speed and future upgradability (sweet--I made a new word!). MoBo I have now isn't too great and is going to be returned. Just need to install the new one first. I don't need the absolute best, just something much better than what I have now. I plan on keeping my CPU for quite a while (I have had zero problems so far with the D-series). Honestly, my only requirements are DDR2, SATA2 capable, and a full-speed PCI-E x16 slot. I'm not concerned with SLI or 1333 FSB or any of that.

Whatever I get, it will be installed with: Pentium D 940, 1 Gig DDR2, e-GeForce 7100GS, and 2 SATA 2's.

Suggestions on which of those is better? Thanks a bunch! I guess I don't need to order it right away due to no weekend shipping, but I would like to cross it off my to-do list rather soon.

Sorry. Abit is the IL9 Pro model and Intel is the D945GPT (but TigerDirest has it listed as D945GTPL).

Nooooooo, have you seen how unstable those things are?! Just search on Google for "Asus Striker problem" and see!

Damn...just found out about the IB9 Board. Now I have to choose between the three of them :-)
