You've never used a Falcon-NW laptop then eh? Either that or a high end Sager are "stupid fantastic" for a gaming lappy. I mean, where else can you get a laptop with dual 7950GTX mobile graphics cards in SLI with SATA 3.0 RAID? Be prepared to pay through the nose though.

not what i meant. i mean nothing beats using a desktop computer where the monitor and keyboard are seperate. nothing beats gaming on a desktop computer. except maybe xbox 360( its a great console with great online play) on my (my fathers rather) x series bravia.

With the exception of the xbox comment, I know what you mean. I'm a bit of a die hard when it comes to anti-microsoft.

I have an Acer laptop, but I really would avoid the ATI graphics chipset ones. I bought an Acer TravelMate 4200, with all intel chipsets, including an intel 950 graphics chipset.

I've found intel graphics chips to work well with Ubuntu out of the box. Not sure about ATi but there's alot of tutorials on there that will help if it's not already supported out of the box these days.

My favourite console is the Nintendo Wii at the moment, not that this has anything to do with the topic hehe :-)

meh wii shouldn't be compared to the 360 and ps3, its not a real console it has a non-gamer target audience and itself and many of its games are gimmicky. xbox 360 is a great console except red lights of death problem which never effected me after a year and a half. it has great games and great online capabilities, the controller is excellent. besides the xbox team is seperate from the windows department:P
