Hi there,

I'm getting an "old" laptop for my five year old kid. It's a Pentium III 1Ghz, 512MB RAM, 30GB HD. I was thinking on Xubuntu but I don't know if there is a more kiddo-friedly distro that I am missing? Also what Linux educational games or software do you know and/or recommend for a kid of his age?

Thanks in advance!

You could try Edubuntu. (http://www.edubuntu.org/)

Gcompris (http://www.gnomefiles.org/app.php/GCompris) might be what you are looking for. It is an educationnal application for Linux.
