A Pennsylvania crusader has slapped Google with a $5bn lawsuit, claiming that the world's largest search engine is endangering his personal safety. With a suit filed in federal court, Dylan Stephen Jayne insists that the company is guilty of "crimes against humanity" because its name turns up when his social security number is scrambled and turned upside down. And if you think it is a joke, check out the suit filed by the guy, IN A HANDWRITTEN DOCUMENT http://dockets.justia.com/docket/court-pam.../case_id-69169/

In the world, especially in the USA anybody can sue anybody for anything. It actually doesn't mean very much.

Amazing. I can't really say more.

By the way, the link to the hand-written document is broken; here's the correct link (http://casedocs.justia.com/pennsylvania/pamdce/3:2007cv01677/69169/1/2.pdf). That really speaks for itself; the guy must've been under considerable stress when writing his complaint... Yaaarrrhhh!

this is why we (the United States) needs to come up with a loser pays system... this is unreal..

They should not allow this on the count of the fact that this guy is clearly not well in the head.

this is why we (the United States) needs to come up with a loser pays system... this is unreal..Perhaps what we really need is to make frivolous lawsuit-mongering a criminal act. It's a blatant abuse of the legal system. I guess the trouble would be cases that aren't so blatant.

Hmmm. He could be the richest man in the world if he sued all the search engines because I'm sure the same thing would happen if he tried this with a different search engine.:lolflag:

Sometimes they win though, which does not say much about the legal system.

I just read the docket.

WOW...what a nut job.

Maybe his next lawsuit should be against Bill Gates for consipring to take all the worlds money from him.

I mean com'on even IF he had a case, 5 billion dollars?! does he really think he can win that, can they even award that much without going up to the highest level of court.

The guy needs serious help.

Maybe I should sue because my sites do NOT come up. They do in Live, which is why I like it :D.

-EDIT They do come up, if the there is more than "LaRoza" in the title, but Live will get my sites and wiki with just that.

Only in America .....

As an American I hang my head in shame.

This guy is a total buffoon. I really wish they hadn't redacted his overdrafts and his social security earnings. The guy's maybe 25 by my guesstimations and I'm curious how much he makes... keeping up with the Joneses I guess ;)

I agree with the earlier statement that they need to implement a "loser pays" law for these frivolous suits...

Ugh

Going by what I saw of the "statement of claim", he probably doesn't use the tools Linux provides for drawing up nice documentation.

so true. there is something seriously seriously seriously wrong with the justice system in america if things like this can go to trial and not be laughed out of court. .

interesting point of view, coming from a guy whose sig says:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

I've never understood the logic behind that belief - that we have all been given the chance of salvation by God letting his son get nailed to a cross.

UghSounds like a good idea to me.
It would also be helpful to have judges with more sense.

Just like I said above ;) You really get some stupid people and the scariest part is that they use them in a jury...
