Not exactly. The fantasy football leagues on Yahoo are for American football but it is based upon the stats of actual NFL players. The fantasy football league starts with the start of the NFL season. Prior to that, you create your own team by participating in an online draft to pick players for your team. The players that you select will earn your team points each week (hopefully!) depending upon how well they do in an actual game that week. If your total points are greater than the team that you are playing that week, then you win.
