View Full Version : Freedom? Where?

COMMUNITY DISCUSSIONS: Where you can discuss anything you like (within reason).

In quick succession: PriceGuy censored my thread and poll on whether there ought to be a "Ubuntu Men" forum as well as the "Ubuntu Women" forum;

Bapoumba closed my thread discussing piracy (note that: I wasn't advocating piracy, I was just discussing it... and then I got a warning!! If anyone in future wants to discuss GPL3 and DRM... watch out!! That kind of discussion is clearly off-limits!!

Read through my previous posts if you like, I'm no troll or trouble-maker. But today I've had perfectly reasonable discussions expunged and/or censorsed, and I have been given a warning when I haven't done anything wrong!

It seems like certain mods don't quite understand what freedom means.

I wonder if I'll be banned now, for just telling you all the truth about what happened to me? I wonder if many of you will get to see this post, or if it will be "disappeared" like an earlier one?

I don't know rms or Shuttleworth... but I can guess what they'd make of this.

Moved to the Resolution Center where the Forum Council can review the complaint.

I have moved third party posts out of this thread tobring it inline with the resolution centre policy

Disallowing discussion and a poll on a Ubuntu Men's Forum is sexist. If women need a special forum where they can air women's issues, why can there be no discussion on a similar facility for men?

If my discussion of piracy is disallowed, but discussion of DRM/Tivoisation is allowed, that is blatantly inconsistent. If anyone thinks I was giving a "nod nod wink wink piracy's okay" in my comment, they should also disqualify any support for DRM or Tivoisation.

The suppression of Free Speech is at odds with the FFS, rms's views and the Debian philosophy (which Ubuntu claims to adhere to).

I don't think you are being intellectually honest with us, nor do I believe you are being genuine in your complaint(s). A quick check of our logs demonstrates that you actually have three other user accounts registered in these forums and that you have received infractions in the past for blatant violations of the Forums Code of Conduct. My guess is that you are unhappy about that and looking for a reason to pick a fight, trying to push your limits and discover where lines might be drawn in an attempt to stir up controversy. Don't.
