im not sure this is the best name for it but I think it would be cool to have a website that ranks hardware based on how linux friendly it is. There are bound to be some "ties" for some devices so I guess the rankings should be in several Tiers. Maybe a 1-10 scale.

For instance, for printers Hewlette packard is pretty good. ATI and Nvidia are both good as well now. The highest rank should be saved for those who specifically write drivers for linux.. rather than on relying on the community to write for them.

What do you think? There can be subsections:

OEM's : Dell

Hardware internal: Motherboards (like the built in audio drivers etc)

graphics cards
sound cards
etc....

external:

printers, pdas mp3 players etc

Ive looked at many of the linux hardware sites and none of them have a good easy to browse ranking list if you just want to pick out devices if you are custom building a computer for instance.

It sounds very similar to linux-watch.com, or linuxwatch.com (whichever it is). People may misconstrue your domain to mean that you're reporting Linux news in a friendly way, meaning you find SJVN to be unfriendly...
