View Full Version : Is there any Russian or Chinese Operating System?

If the Soviet Union had existed now there must have been an Operating System made by the Soviets to compete with the many US OSes as well as Microsoft Windows throughout the world. However, now as Russia is again increasingly anti US and anti West and trying to challenge the West again along with China I wonder if there is any native Operating System made by the Russians or the Chinese for the use of their populations. If so would someone post their links. I am curious to know. Thanks:)

Red Flag Linux is immensely popular in China. It probably has more users than Ubuntu.

I'm very sorry for misunderstanding your wonderful sense of humour 23meg... I have many Russian friends but have never heard of this humour before. I'm going to have a very enlightening discussion with them regarding it.

What about ALTLinux, I remember seeing that it's Russian.
