the funloving guys making dvds keeps making it more difficult to make my own legal archival backup. they are using ARCOSS, 100IFOs, bad locations, etc, etc, and really free software (for linux) really hasn't been keeping up. i find it weird that windows has the best dvd software. my favorite is ripit4me, because i relaly like dvd shrink and all its options. i have quite often removed the credits and the produced by in order to get very little compression, but i would use dvdfab in a heartbeat if they gave us a native linux version or even supported their product under wine.
i know a lot of people out there love their free OSS but i would be happy if even propritary guys came in and gave us what we are missing. am i alone in this?
