There are five computers in my house.

3 Active Desktops (of which I administer 1)
1 Desktop to be donated
1 Laptop

My laptop is what has Ubuntu installed. I can't convince anyone else to install it on their desktops, and I don't want to bother with it on my desktop for a number of reasons (I'd have to play around with fakeraid, and also I use it primarily for gaming).

wife's laptop - XP
kids' desktop - dual boot kubuntu and XP
my main desktop - kubuntu
my older desktop - XP, not used much anymore - need to copy data off it and load linux
even older desktop - not used right now, I think XP is still on there, will load linux someday
file/printer server - ubuntu
second server I'm settting up to backup my PCs - debian etch

so what is that - 7 computers? And my wife says I have too many. That's crazy talk.

Plus I have some other stuff that's running linux - my ipod and 2 buffalo routers running dd-wrt firmware (awesome stuff by the way)

Server: P4 1.8GHz, 384MB RAM, running Debian Etch
Desktop: Dual-core Pentium D, 1GB RAM, dual-booting Kubuntu 7.04 and Vista (until I get XP working in Virtualbox)
Laptop: Core Duo, 1GB RAM, running Ubuntu 7.04

Not currently in use is an old P3 with 32 MB of RAM, no USB ports, no NIC, and a broken CD-ROM drive. I've resisted the temptation to fix it up by reminding myself of the electricity bill.

2 Desktops (1 with Ubuntu and XP, the other with Dream Linux and Windows 2000)
2 Laptops (1 with Ubuntu and XP, the other with Ubuntu and Vista)
Linux is what's used most of the time. I'm not sure why I kept the Windows partitions around.

Heh, I just discovered another one that isn't in use at the moment - I should install Ubuntu on it...

It sure looks like True Geeks love their computers, but my excuse is that my email and web site all runs from two servers in my basement so at least some of the machines are doing honest work!

Just two desktops. One used to be a firewall, but I turned it into a backup system instead. :) There's also a PDA and a PSP, if you want to count those (the PSP runs "homebrew" software, so it is a bit more capable than your typical gaming handheld).

..... my wife says I have too many. That's crazy talk.
There is no such thing as too many computers!

I have three machines:
1 Desktop - Dual boot - Ubuntu and win2k
1 Desktop - Triple boot - Archlinux, Ubuntu, and Wolvix Cub
1 Server - Ubuntu

And not a single one of them with more than 384MB of RAM or a processor faster then 1.0 GHz....

We have 3 set up and running:

1. My wife has a Windows Vista desktop. She likes it, I hate it because she expects me to administrate it for her.

2. I have a Ubuntu desktop

3. I have a Mac OSX laptop that also runs Ubuntu under VMware. Considered buying a Linux Laptop when I bought this computer but couldn't find any that fully supported the laptops functions such as sleep and hardware such as cameras properly at that time. I am happy with my Mac, but suspect that I would be happy with a Dell or Lenovo with Linux on it too now. I do have to say that I really like iTunes even though it is closed source.

I have three, a laptop and a desktop both with ubuntu, and a ten year old desktop I use a stand for my playstation since I only have one monitor and am too lazy to be switching out cables very often. I'm also planning on getting a new laptop (this one in fact, if it ever actually comes out- http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=474477), since the one I have currently is too bulky and heavy for my purposes

I currently have just the one :(

The Gestapo learned that one of my hobbies is pyrotechnics. That, combined with my anarchist views, led them to believe I was a terrorist ROTFLMMFAO!!

They seized the pc I had at the time... but soon I'll get it back. Then I'll have TWO computers.

I also have a nonfunctional laptop (I unintentionally fed it coffee). I plan to convert it into a robot's "brain" - if it's still got enough functioning components for that.
