I have tested a7 on linux using the tar ball file Mozilla dev offered and this are some things I noticed:

It blends prefectly with any theme im using so for the first time it
truly intergrates with the DE default API
The bookmark manager, which appeared in Opera before is a plus
The overall UI as been slightly modified for the better
10 Recent pages is better than 8

The bad thing is that is not optimized at all so is kinda sluggish but I guess that will be fixed in Firefox 3.0 b

So what you guys think of Firefox 3.0 until now?

I've always thought 3.0 was better than 2.0 -- Even the 2nd or 3rd alpha crashed less than the so-called stable branch for me.

It's pretty quick for me, and doesn't appear to suffer from the memory leak of its predecessor  But, then neither does Swiftweasel, so I don't know...

Could you tell me your hardware mines:

3100+ AMD Sempron

440 MB RAM (Supposed to be 512 but I have a intergrated VIA video card so some RAM is used for video)

1 GB of swap and have a 93 GB HD.

Im using linux mint with kernel 2.6.20-16 generic Kernel.

Been using Gran Paradisio (or Minefield) since I saw a link for it here months ago. It is faster than 2.0 from what I can tell, but still not as fast as I'd like. But, I do like it, and use it when I can instead of 2.0. But, I find myself leaning more and more towards Opera (I'm using 9.5 alpha now) due to the speed.

The machine I'm currently using is a Acer Travelmate 4402WLMi with an AMD Turion 64-ML-30 processor rated at 1.5ghz, 512MB RAM with 1GB swap.

I'm running the latest alpha. Rendering does seem a bit faster than with FF2. The download manager has some obvious bugs right now (the most obvious being some downloads not showing up, but downloading nonetheless). I've run into some rendering bugs with a couple of sites, so I reported it. The history menu seems more responsive than with FF2.

So, no big obvious changes in the alphas, which means they're probably saving them for the betas. Can't wait for Beta 1.

Alpha 7 has never worked all that well for me, regardless of the platform it's been installed on.
