I tried out Matchbox today, and I was very impressed. I was designed for PDA's and tablets but it looks great on a larger screen too.
Has anyone else used it?

What? No one has anything to say about Matchbox?

I installed it under Edgy. As I recall, changing skins was a bit of a pain. Do you know if/how it's related to Hildon? I have an oldish Ramline "tablet" that I want a good touch interface for, but I haven't figured out how to get Hildon working.

Matchbox is the window manager used by Hildon.

Maybe this post will help you installing Ubuntu Mobile Edition (which is using Hildon):http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=5496332#post5496332

Please post problem you are facing so I can improve the description.

Hi, Im new to playing with window managers. I'm trying to make a tablet 'big dumb buttons' type display for a media centre pc. The main controller is to be a Wiimote.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? I've heard about hildon and matchbox, but im not sure how they all come together or how to install user interfaces.

Thanks in advance
