I have just published an article on Distropedia about FaunOS (http://www.faunos.com/), which is based on Arch Linux and is specifically for loading on your USB stick. I have a 1 GB spare stick ready to test FaunOS out.

See the FaunOS Distropedia article here (http://cafelinux.org/distropedia/?q=node/163).

Back to the important part for all those suffering from ALDMAS, FuanOS should prove to be a permanent fix for your longing for fulfillment on your USB stick.

I don't like the tacky OS X look but I'll give it a try in VBox later.

Actually I don't thank it looks anything like OS X, I find that it has a very unique Linux look and feel that is beautiful.

I was referring to the windows border. Don't mind my pickyness though.

Thats OK, pickyness is good.

This looks pretty interesting. I have an empty 1GB thumb drive sitting around, guess I'll have to try it out. Most of the other live USB distros I've looked at have put much more emphasis on being as small as possible.

Thats what I like about this project, their website is set up really nicely also. If this is any kind of an indicator I trust FaunOS will be around for a long time and become a major player in Linux distros to install on USB sticks.

I wouldn't call FaunOS a small distro it is more of a complete distro:

Here's a quote from raymano (http://forum.faunos.com/profile.php?id=2) FaunOS Forum Administrator

One other thing that is different about FaunOS is that we are not trying to keep it small but rather complete. In coming years (if not already) 1GB and larger USB drives will be equivalent to yesteryears floppies. So we think these days it's silly to keep the size of a distribution under 700 megs so it can fit on a CD. For the purpose of software distribution in the very near future, the CD will be obsolete. So will the DVD. Guaranteed! This is just simply a matter of economics.

Thanks Taylor, this makes perfect sense since FaunOS is based on Arch Linux.
