Hi guys
A friend of mine rang me up today, he is doing work experience at an online flash and java games company. He said that they're are getting a new server box next week, and they were debating what software to put on it, and we're only considering versions of windows server, so he gave me a ring and asked how suitable ubuntu would be as a server.
Now i have no real experience in server administration apart from sharing network drives and a bit of apache, so i'm no expert here, so i'm looking to you guys for help. The server would be used to as the server for multiplayer flash games.
my questions are:
would ubuntu server edition be suitable for this?
would it play nice with windows boxes?
and would their admins be able to get it going with little fuss?
