So I was checking out the Ubuntu Google Groups (http://groups-beta.google.com/groups?q=Ubuntu&hl=en) when I saw an add for:

ubuntupc.com (http://www.ubuntupc.com/)

Does anyone know anything about this?

Nice! I wish more vendors would have that kind of offers.

This is one cool looking computer. Anyone know how reliable they are in comparison to major brands like HP, IBM, or Compaq?

EDIT: I see they have an option to add a TV Turner to your Lini PC. I didn't know Linux had a program so I could watch to shows if I hooked my cable up to it.

The guy who runs (or at the least works for) that company made a few posts about it on the community marketplace forum (http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=176636&postcount=7)

I bought one back in June, when Open Sense Solutions first started selling them. The machine is rock solid, and the tech support was excellent. Buy one, if you're willing to spend $600 for a good Linux box.

Given that we have a few rather temperamental Dell workstations at the office, and the only problem I had with my Lini was that a couple of parts were knocked loose during shipping and had to be reseated, I'd say that they're more reliable.

They do. The program is called "tvtime", and it works really well. It's nice if you want to hook up a game console to the tuner card as well (you'll just need an adaptor from Radio Shack if you want to pipe the sound into the computer).

Interesting idea, but I'm curious as to why he has listed the Barton 3000+ as a 400 FSB chip when it is a 333. Furthermore he's using DDR400 which the 2600+ and 3000+ both will simply underclock to 333 Mhz. Why not just supply the 3200+ as the upgrade option? I realize DDR400 is cheaper than 333 nowadays, but still...

Maybe he has overclocked the bartons;)
It is quite easy to overclock bartons cpu. Bartons are wonder chips:)(I changed mine from 2500 to 3000)

Just a thought:P
