Are there any last minute things that we need to arrange for for the SFD install fest?
Are there any pieces of hardware that we need?

Useful Hardware:
* power strips
* extension cords
* computer power cords
* switches/hubs
* Cat5e cables
* blank CDs
* alternate-installation CDs (tested)
* a PXE server
I can bring one 5-port Gb switch, one 4-port 10Mb hub, one power strip, and three extra computer power cords (ICE-320-C13 to NEMA 5-15P). I can also bring a RJ crimp-tool if someone wants to bring Cat5e cable and connectors.
If the library is providing several tables, and Maryland Team members bring additional power strips and switches/hubs, then we can place a power strip and switch/hub on each table, and run cables from the switches/hubs to jacks in the room provided by the library - or (if there is no PXE server (i.e. no network-based installations stressing the LAN)) - daisy-chain the switches/hubs.
The above will help mitigate power/network challenges in the event the SFD turn-out is good.
Turning an Ubuntu box into a PXE server looks painless:

OK, so I keep forgetting that not everyone is on the mailing list - GET ON IT! I sent this Thursday, sorry for forgetting to post it on the forum.
As everybody knows, SFD is fast approaching! Here are some items that I would like help in bringing:
*Power strips and extension cords
*PC/monitor power cables
*Monitors
*Keyboards, mice
*KVMs
If you are bringing in items, please label them with your name.
That's pretty much it. I have all the networking stuff in order, all the CDs as long as Chuck brings the ones from Canonical. Server is ready and tested. I have machines for demoing. Let's do this!!
If you are planning on doing an install, please download this and this to a flash drive and bring said flash drive. We will replace the installations sources.list to use the local proxy then replace it with the original.
Here's how the day will go. Please be at the library at 9AM to organize and move all our stuff in. We will set up the stations, network, and assign roles. We need one person to be the greeter, so if anyone has a friend who doesn't have the expertise to do an install... :-D We can use him/her.
Sometime we will congregate and decide what we'll do for lunch.
