About a few weeks ago to a month ago, I posted a link to a website I heard about on Attack of the Show @ G4. It was a site where they were LEGALLY selling DRM-free music.

After I posted this, under the account name: chris062689 I was unable to access the forums. The site is down now, for some odd reason, but it was a legal site!

I have read the TOS. And feel that there might have been a mixup?
(Admin though I was a BOT? That the site was illegal? (it's not!))

Could an Administrator please PM me and perhaps see what could be done?
I love this community, and hate to be banned from it!

For staff:

User: http://ubuntuforums.org/member.php?do=getinfo&u=87069

Staff member and several users reported the site as spam, one of whom noting that the site required Windows and IE to function.

Given this evidence, I'd have to agree with the original judgement that it looked like spam.

Considering that you have a long posting history before that, I am willing to overlook this incident and reverse (expire) the infraction so that your account is reactivated.

Thank you very much!
I realized at the time that it only worked for IE, but I thought in time, it would work with Firefox in Linux.

Would the 'spam' part of it be that it was a music store (I thought of it as more of an iTunes alternative) or that it only worked in IE?

(By the way; I still can't post on the (banned) user chris062689)

chris062689, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

The "spam part" was that it was a short quickly-written post that linked to a site, claiming that it's a Linux music store, and the site turns out to not work in any Linux browser at all. It looked suspicious and every day we get 20+ spam posts of very similar things. It's extremely easy to forget to check the user's register date and bean counter and just assume it's a spammer.

I'll go double check the permissions system.

EDIT: I don't see anything wrong with the permissions; they look identical to another registered user's. Maybe the forum caches this for a while. Try again in a few minutes, and poke me again if it still isn't working.
