Ubuntu Mobile

If this is in the wrong forum or there is some comprehensive document covering this, please direct me to that.

The Ubuntu Mobile & Embedded project was started parallel with Gutsy development. The Launchpad site, however, shows no obvious schedule or optimism for completion.

Is it still on target? Will it be a fully-featured mobile platform? How soon can I buy a mobile phone with it on?

If the answers are all ambiguous, could you tell me where I can find a good Linux-based free software smartphone?
